Lovato’s role in Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of the Fire Saga was announced in August 2019, with a video of the 27th birthday of the star Will Ferrell. Later it was officially revealed that she plays the character of Katiana, an Icelandic singer who will represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest.
