The story of Eve Online’s Triglavian invasion is coming to an end

Space-a-thon’s MMO Eve Online is wrapping up its current invasion story arc that took place over the past year or so. Those pesky Triglavian have done no good – they first invaded and now they’ve become too powerful, and it seems like it’s up to you to deal with them once and for all, or to join them and help such an invasion, even you really The culmination This story begins today, and with it comes a major makeover for the Abyssal Proving Grounds as well.

Called science fiction Quadrant 3: Zenith, this update follows the last two “Quadrants” (the way the CCP Games introduce smaller, more frequent updates) where we’ve seen these invaders come to power. According to the developers, the outcome of these events depends on the players: who you choose to partner with could influence the Eve universe.

However, it’s not just about more of the story, there’s also an update to Eve’s PvP areas, the Abyssal Proving Grounds. The developers are introducing a new thing called Test Strands, which you can use to warp from any point in space directly to an Abyssal Proving Ground, so you can fight other players even faster. Other new additions to Proving Grounds include different combat formats, specific ship classes, new leaderboards, and some lovely new Triglavian-themed setups.

As always with all these kinds of updates, Zenith also brings with it new live events, balance changes, visual updates, and all of those good things.

If, like me, some of this technobabble has left you a bit confused, Sin does a fabulous job explaining what’s been going on with the history of the Triglavian invasion so far here.

Eve Online is a free game and you can download it from Steam or through your own client.
