The Pittsburgh Steelers trade for inside linebacker Avery Williamson was made official by the NFL on Monday. Apparently, Williamson will need to physically pass his team to finally seal the deal. Additionally, several days before Williamson was allowed to join the stewards, Covid must go through the test protocol. Because of the time it takes, the Steelers have granted Williamson a roster exemption and thus will not need to take any corresponding action until he clears the protocol and physically passes.
According to the Washington Post, under the new NFL Covid Protocols, a newcomer has to face a six-day intake process before being allowed to enter a team facility, according to the Washington Post. The process begins on the day the player arrives in the city of the new team, and the player is to give a series of negative results in the daily test of the ninth coronavirus, which is before entering the 6th facility.
According to the protocols listed, it does not appear that Avery will be on the Steelers roster this week though and thus he is unlikely to play in the team’s Sunday road game against the Dallas Cowboys. Williamson, however, will be able to start practice with the Steelers in 10 weeks and then dress up and play against the Cincinnati Bengals on November 15th.
As we wait to see if there is a tweet in Williamson’s contract, as part of it being traded to the Steelers from the New York Jets, the figures below show that Pittsburgh will need to be included if the status quo remains. Former CF Sports NFL agent Joel Carey.
Williams, as you can imagine, is very excited about trading in undefeated steelers from Winless Jets. He posted an Instagram video on Monday morning as he left for Pittsburgh.
