Adlon added, “It’s definitely a bit of a gut punch …” It’s a big bummer. But this is how things sometimes work. We have no control over it. ”

Newton remarked that “we all really wanted to go back” in production on Season 2 amid the pandemic. ‘Everything was written. I can not even believe it, ‘she added, referring to the completed scripts for the previously green-lit second season.

‘Society’ and ‘I’m not okay with this’ canceled by Netflix due to COVID-related circumstances

The community had seen a production start date next month, which Adlon quoted.

“We’ve all been waiting to go back,” she said. “We thought we’d be back pretty soon,” he said.

She focused on the season 1 finale of the show, which will now serve as a series finale.

‘I’m sorry we left it on such a cliffhanger; we did not want that, ‘she said.

Newton added, “I’m so sad. I loved The community so much.”

Co-star Alex Fitzalan reflected her sentiment. “Very sad news this morning,” he wrote on Instagram alongside photos of him on the set of the show’s first season.

Gidion also posted behind-the-scenes images from her time on the series entitled “Grateful!”

As we reported earlier today, Netflix reversed its decision to renew season 2 of the YA drama, whose production was influenced by COVID-19.

Newton died as Abbie Pressman on the series, along with Gideon Adlon, Sean Berdy, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Jacques Colimon, Olivia DeJonge, Alex Fitzalan, Grace Victoria Cox, Emilio Garcia Sanchez and Olivia Nikkanen.

Made by Chris Keyser and starring Newton, The community is described as a modern take on Lord of the flies. It follows a group of teenagers who are mysteriously transported to a facsimile of their rich city of New England without trace of their parents. Their newfound freedom will be fun … but it will also be very dangerous. While struggling to figure out what happened to them and how to get home, they need to put order and form alliances if they want to survive.

Netflix also chose not to continue with a second season of another upcoming-of-age series, I’m not okay with this.
