ITHACA, NY – The Tompkins County Department of Health issued a warning Saturday night after receiving notification that an employee at Simeon’s American Bistro who worked several hours last week tested positive for COVID-19.
The individual worked multiple shifts in the restaurant, located at 224 E. State Street, in which patterns may have been exposed.
Potential exposures may have occurred during the following dates and times at Simeon’s:

- Tuesday, Aug.18, 11am to 2pm and 4.30pm to 9.30pm
- Wednesday, August 19th. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
- Thursday 20 August 11am to 2pm and 4.30pm to 9.30pm
- Friday, Aug. 21, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
If you ate at Simeon’s, indoors or outdoors, during the dates and times above, please do the following:
- It is recommended to test at the Cayuga Health Sampling Site located at The Shops at Ithaca Mall parking lot, 40 Catherwood Rd.
- Register for an appointment online at cayugahealthsystem.org or call the Cayuga Health Call Center at (607) 319-5708 between special hours 12 noon and 5 pm on Sunday, August 23rd.
- Monitor your health for symptoms of cough, fever, and shortness of breath for 14 days from the last time you ate at Simeon.

- If you are looking for tests and the result is negative, then continue to monitor your health for the full 14 days of the last time you ate at Simeon. If you become symptomatic, seek re-testing.
Cayuga Health System had announced earlier in the day that the Sampling site at The Shops was set to close to the general public on Sunday and Monday so returning Cornell students could be screened. CHS has since said the site will have public appointments on Sunday, August 23 and Monday, August 24 to address the people who think they were exposed to Simeon last week.
Simeon’s American Bistro has been temporarily shut down allowing for a clean cleaning of its facilities, according to the warning.
