Advances in Pfizer and Bioentech The billionaire scientist behind the COVID-19 vaccine says he expects it to “knock out the head virus” and eventually end the epidemic, according to a report.
After an announcement this week that the vaccine was more than 90 percent effective in trials, Uur Ahin, a 55-year-old CEO of Byantech, told the UK Guardian on Thursday that he was convinced.

“If the question is whether we can prevent this epidemic with this vaccine, then my answer is: yes, because I believe that protection from even therapeutic infections will have a dramatic effect,” Ahin told Mainz’s paper.
He said he is confident the treatment will work because it attacks the virus on multiple levels.

“This vaccine prevents COVID-19 from entering our cells. But even if the virus manages to find a way, the T-cells hit it head on and get rid of it. We have trained the immune system very well to complete these two defensive moves. We now know that the virus cannot defend itself against these mechanisms, ”he said.
He added, “Now we know that vaccines can defeat this virus.”
On Monday, pharmaceutical giant Pfizer and German company Bioentech announced that their vaccine candidates have proven to be 90 percent effective in preventing people from falling ill during a Phase 3 crisis.
