- Samsung is making a UI 3.0 beta available for the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra.
- You will need an unlocked, Sprint or T-Mobile device to try it out.
- Registration is available through the Members app.
You don’t have to have a Galaxy S20 to test Samsung’s latest interface. Samsung’s One UI 3.0 beta is available for the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra, bringing a taste of Android 11 to the company’s pen-equipped smartphones.
You will need a Sprint, T-Mobile or Unlocked version of the Galaxy Note 20 to try the One UI 3.0 Beta. As before, you have to sign up for the Samsung Members app via the banner. The company warns that it is “dynamic” to provide more stable publishing as we write, so if you believe reliability (for beta, too) is important to you, be patient.

The test release will add numerous interface tweaks as well as practical features. Some of them come directly from Android 11, like the dedicated section for chats in your notification shade. You’ll also see improvements to Samsung’s web browser, home and screensavers, and contacts.
There are also improvements to the ecosystem, such as extended wireless dex support and smart things tie-in that provide clearly visible alerts if the devices hear a ringing doorbell or a crying baby. It’s not certain if the One UI 3.0 beta has Galaxy Note 20-specific additions, but Samsung made no mention of it in its announcement.
Samsung has already committed to releasing the polished version after November, and has an unofficial expectation by December. It doesn’t outline the devices that will get beta after the Galaxy Note 20, but there could be a long list when Samsung expands updates in three years to many of its mid-range and high-distance devices.
