The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony aired Saturday


The special will be available on HBO and to stream on HBO Max at 8pm. HBO is owned by CNN’s parent company.

According to John Sykes, president of the Rock-Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, it will focus on the stories of entrants in 2020 and their “incredible contribution to music and their influence on a pay generation of artists”.

The 2020 Inductee category includes Defeat Mode, The Dooby Brothers, Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, the infamous BIG, T-Rex, and the Ahmet Ertegan Award for John Landau and Irving Azoff.

“While this year’s program will be different from previous years, we look forward to recognizing the industry, their fans and artists for their impact on the next payday,” said Joel Peresman, President and CEO of the Rome and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. Said in a statement.

It was announced in March that the 35th annual event would be postponed due to the coronavirus crisis. Saturday’s special takes the place of the ceremony originally scheduled for May 2 in Cleveland.
According to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Dave Grohl will open Saturday’s special with “Hardik’s Introduction” for those involved in 2020.

Guests on the show include Luke Bryan, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Miley Cyrus, Billy Gibbons, Dave Grohl, Don Hanley, Jennifer Hudson, Billy Idol, Iggy Popp, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, Chris Martin, Lynn Menada, Bruce Springsteen, St. Vincent, Ringo Starrer, Gwen Stephanie, Charlize Theron and Nancy Wilson.
