The remains of the missing California boy, Thaddeus Sran, may have been found; the police work to confirm the identification


The remains of a 2-year-old California boy who disappeared from his home last week are believed to have been found, authorities said Thursday.

The Madera Police Department said the bodies found human remains of a 2 to 3 year old boy around 9:15 am Authorities said they could not confirm that the remains were from Thaddeus Sran, pending the results. Of the tests.

“It is a very strong possibility that it is little Thaddeus,” police chief Dino Lawson told reporters during a press conference.

Sran was reported missing by his parents on July 15 after he disappeared from his home in Madera, about 40 kilometers from Fresno. They told police they put him to bed around 10 p.m. the night before and found that he disappeared the next morning.

On Tuesday, the Madera police announced that the parents had stopped cooperating with investigators.

“Unfortunately, Thaddeus’s parents stopped cooperating at the beginning of the investigation. We believe their help in this case would be helpful,” the department had said in a statement. “We hope they continue to cooperate with detectives from the Madera Police Department and help us locate Thaddeus.”

The couple had a daughter who died in 2015, Madera Police Lt. Josiah Arnold told Fox News. The case of his death remains open, he said.

Sran was born premature and requires a feeding tube to eat. He was also described as nonverbal and had just learned to walk, police said.

Investigators are studying a number of possibilities related to the boy’s disappearance, Lawson said.

“Everything is on the table and we do not rule out anything,” he added.
