Some shows are known for adding seemingly random scenes that are later revealed to be critical. Breaking Bad It was one of those shows, and he was known for adding Easter eggs. Even the title of each episode could hide clues for fans to ponder.
In the season finale of Breaking BadOne of those incidents was when Walter left his watch at the service station. There were tons of theories as to why Walter did this, but the real reason is not that exciting.

There are some themes that seem to be danced on television, although this is fast becoming the exception rather than the rule. How drugs are made was one of those topics. Breaking Bad Not only did he delve into how drugs are manufactured and distributed, but why someone would be forced to break the law.
While it might be a fictional story, it contained a grain of truth that no one wants to discuss. What will someone do when they have done everything right and have nothing to show? That is the premise of Breaking Bad.
According to AMC, Walter White is a chemistry teacher who works, teaches his students in the best way that he knows and loves his family. They then diagnose stage III lung cancer shortly after their 50th birthday. Walter now faces a dilemma, as he knows that his family will not get much after his death.
So what does he do? He makes the difficult decision to break the law to support his family. The result is fascinating and heartbreaking to watch, making it one of the best television shows ever produced.
As the show progresses, Walter develops “Heisenberg’s” personality in an effort to keep his illegal business separate from his family. He also begins to change as a person, developing a more sinister nature as his drugs grow in demand. The man who made the decision to use methamphetamine to support his family is not the man who meets his end at the end of the series.
How did ‘Breaking Bad’ end?
If you haven’t seen the end, walk lightly. There will be spoilers ahead. The importance, or lack thereof, of Walter leaving his watch behind needs to be discussed.
The New Yorker reports that Walter is now a wanted man, and that he is still on the verge of death. But he has also completed his goal. Your family is financially secure. You may have done horrible things to accomplish this, but the goal you developed in the first episode is now complete.
And now that? Walter makes the decision to return to his Albuquerque home and sees his son Walter Jr for the last time. While there, Walter learns that Jess is still alive and captive.
Walter manages to save Jesse but at the cost of his own life. Walter is hit by what is supposed to be one of his own bullets while killing Jack’s men. Walter asks Jesse to kill him, but Jesse refuses because he knows that Walter is dying anyway. Jesse can flee before the police arrive, while Walter dies, perhaps gaining a bit of redemption in his final hours.
Describing that final episode, series creator Vince Gilligan told Entertainment Weekly: “Walter will never redeem himself. It is too far down the path of damnation. But at least take a few steps down that path. And I think the most important thing for him is the fact that he achieves what he set out to accomplish in the first episode. “
What is the true story behind the clock?
On the way back to Albuquerque, Walter stops at a gas station. In a move that was never really explained on the show, Walter deliberately leaves his watch behind. This simple move sparked a fierce online debate about why he did this.
The biggest thought seemed to be that Walter knew he was going to die. His time was up, as much as Walter White and Heisenberg, and time no longer mattered to him. Some even thought it might foreshadow his death.
While that would have been poetic, the truth was much simpler and much more disappointing. ScreenRant reports that Walter was not wearing a watch in the second half of the episode, and the show needed an explanation to avoid a time continuity issue.
Don’t worry, we were also a little disappointed. With a show that delves into so many taboo subjects, it only made sense that there was a deeper reason for this. Still, it fit in well with the rest of the show, and the ending was as perfect as possible.
