The presidents expect Dandre Baker to sign the practice team

The potential low-risk, high-side add-on is coming to the reigning Super Bowl champions.

The Kansas City Chiefs are expected to sign former New York Round pick Dandre Baker into the practice team in the next few days, NFL Network’s Mike Gerafolo reports.

Cornbacker Baker, who is out of Georgia, initially planned to visit the chiefs, but no other visits have been planned. After signing into the practice team to gain experience with the club, it is expected that he will be given a place in the active roster.

The news of Baker’s joining the chiefs comes just a day after he was charged with robbery in Florida. Baker was acquitted on Monday after his alleged victim lawyer was arrested on charges of unlawful recovery. The Broward County (Florida) State Attorney’s Office announced that it was filing charges against Baker shortly after 50-year-old attorney William Dean was arrested by county sheriff’s office fees and charged with extortion.

Baker, 23, was arrested in May in Fort Lauderdale by four men for possession of a firearm. Seattle Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar, who was originally accused of helping Baker, was earlier dismissed due to lack of evidence.

Selected 30th overall by the Giants in the 2019 NFL Draft, Baker was playing in 16 games with 15 starts and 61 tackles in length. He was to return to his initial role with the Giants before his arrest. Following his arrest, Baker was placed on the commissioner’s release list in July and appeased by the Giants in September.

Now Baker has a second chance with the NFL squad.
