The pre-election polling week accounts for more than half of all 2016 polls


According to a survey of election officials in 500 states and Washington, D.C., by CNN, Edison Research and Catalyst, more than .568 .. million Americans have voted so far, with seven days to November.

The 2016 presidential election saw more than 136.5 million votes cast. So far cast 68..5 million ballot papers have been filed which represents 0.6% of the total 2016 total.

Pre-election voting is rife across the country amid the ongoing coronavirus epidemic, and states are registering record-breaking turnout as voters are excited to vote face-to-face by mail or in person as early as November.
Seven of CNN’s 16 most competitively ranked states: Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, Florida, Colorado and Nevada, among others, have also crossed the half mark for the 2016 poll.

More than half of the votes already cast in this cycle come from the 16 key states, which will play a crucial role in determining who wins the presidency this year.
