Add two more Bears to Madden 21’s disagreement list. As more ratings arrive from EA before the full release of Friday’s ratings, Eddie Jackson and Kyle Fuller feel disrespected.
Let’s start with Jackson. Bears Electrical Safety received an overall rating of 89. In a vacuum, it’s not entirely offensive considering that its production dropped in 2019 and the Madden ratings have dropped.
But when you look at this Top-10 leak that Adam Schefter tweeted, things definitely seem out of control.

Bears and Chargers fans alike have real disputes with EA for putting Derwin James and Jackson together, tied for seventh among all NFL insurances.

But nothing is more surprising than seeing Minkah Fitzpatrick out of the Top-10 entirely. All Fitzpatrick did last year was pull out five passes, catch three fumbles, and score a touchdown on the road to earn First-Team All-Pro honors. And the best Harrison Smith? Sure, he created many conclusions in his own right, but he hasn’t formed an All-Pro team since 2017.
But let’s go back to the Bears.
Kyle Fuller reportedly scored an overall grade of 85, according to Madden School, which may seem a little low, but not criminal. However, things change when you take a look at the Top 10.

Fuller’s one of the best open-field tacklers on the outside, so it’s crazy to see guys like Jaire Alexander or Casey Hayward ranked ahead of him.
It’s not to get into those two corners, but it’s confusing to see them ranked much higher than Fuller, when Fuller scored significantly more tackles (24 more than Alexander and * 50 * more than Heyward), plus one more interception.
As for the postseason awards since Alexander entered the league in 2018, Fuller has also been recognized with two Pro Bowl starts and an All-Pro first team honor.
Alexander and Heyward were left without any of those distinctions, but Alexander earned a Rookie honor from the Professional Soccer Writers Association.
Fortunately, EA updates their ratings throughout the year, so we hope that after a good game or two, Jackson and Fuller receive the increase in numbers they deserve.
