The only survivor of the Kenosha protest shooting speaks for the first time

“That’s all I can think of,” 22-year-old Gage Groskritz told CNN in an exclusive interview on Tuesday. “I play it in my head again, I think about it all the time.”

The shooting, screaming and chaos that later plays in his head makes it seem like it’s August 25th again.

“I think about everything all the time,” Grosskreutz said.

Kyle Rittenhouse, 17, is accused of shooting during a subsequent protest. Social media makes it clear that he had an attachment to the police. He participated in a program for young people interested in becoming a police officer.

Now he has Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony M. Huber is facing two felony counts of cow slaughter in his death, and Grosscreutz has been charged with felony homicide in the incident. Rittenhouse is also facing charges of having a dangerous weapon while under the age of 18, which is a misdemeanor. Under Wisconsin law he is not legally allowed to carry a gun at his age. His attorney says he acted in self-defense.
Police say the man suspected of shooting Kenosha called a friend to

As Blake, a 29-year-old black man, fought for his life in a hospital after being shot by an officer on August 23, protesters took to the streets.

Police and civilians were confronted on the first night and the second date. But on the third night of August 25, protesters and apparently armed civilians also clashed.

Prior to the shooting, Rittenhouse – holding a long rifle – told a reporter that they were trailing him, according to a criminal complaint, that he was a trained drug dealer. The teenager worked part-time at YMCA before being infiltrated by Kovid-19.

Grosskrautz said he worked as a paramedic before returning to a college lodge in Wisconsin where he currently studies. Grosskreutz said he has taken part in many peaceful protests in Milwaukee – more than 100 days of protest against police brutality and racial injustice.

But that nightmare with the White House changed his life, Grosskreutz said.

“I was emptied of a shot point with a .2323 round from the shooter,” Grosskreutz said. “And now I’m missing 90% of my biceps. This isn’t emotionally, physically easy. I’m in constant pain, like a dull ache – which is in my hands, both in my heart.”

According to the complaint, the first victim, Joseph Rosenbum, shot me after the victim threw a plastic bag at him and tried to grab Rittenhouse’s gun. After the video shows, people were seen trying to stop him when Rittenhouse fled and was chased. He then stabbed Huber to death and badly injured Grosscreuts, the complaint says.

Police and emergency vehicles rushed to the scene and came across a video of the fatal encounter on social media, the armed suspect walked past a group of officers and raised his hand with a rifle hanging from his chest. He confirmed himself to police the next day, 30 miles away in Antioch, Illinois.

Grosscruitz says he has his medicine bag full – and his licensed gun

Troubled by the video of the black shooting, Grosskreutz said he traveled 40 miles from his home in Milwaukee to Kenosha to take part in the protest.

Grosskreutz said he has packed medical supplies on a small pack to be ready to provide medical assistance. He also said he decided to bring his own licensed gun. He said he was concerned after seeing a weapons call on Facebook by a group called Kenosha Guard, using the social media platform to encourage armed civilians to take to the streets.

“Everyone there was exercising their right to protest. And there were some who were exercising their right to bear arms, including me,” he said.

Grosskrautz said he saw the need for medical help that night and wore a paramedic hat and returned from protesting for the treatment of the wounded – on both sides of the protest.

“They were down there indiscriminately trying to help everyone,” Kimberly Motley told Grosscrutz’s lawyer.

Social media video captured it as soon as the shooting happened

The social media video of the live streamers that night caught on as those events unfolded.

Rittenhouse is seen taking part in the shooting at two locations. In a video, the criminal complaint against him states that Rosenbum May threw a plastic bag at him and tried to disarm him, and Ritnhaus shot the man fatally.

In the other two videos, Rittenhouse was seen running and people were screaming and chasing after him. Someone said yes, “He just shot someone.”

And someone else replied, “Get one ** of it.”

Rittenhouse appears on the trip and falls to the ground. As a man approaches he fires his weapon, but the videos show.

Police say the suspect in the Kenosha shooting called a friend that he had 'killed someone', and then shot two other people.

Anthony Huber then uses his skateboard and hits Wrighthouse in the shoulder and then falls on it.

According to the criminal complaint, Huber was holding the suspect’s gun in his hand while the other was holding a skateboard. When Huber tried to grab the gun, the suspect drew attention to his body and fired a round, the video shows Z and the complaint repeats.

Huber was seen running away and then falling to the ground. According to the complaint, he died of gunshot wounds.

Grosscreutz is then spotted near the rattanhouse and shot in the hand at close range.

Grosscrauts can be seen fleeing. He has a big wound and his hand is not moving. You can also see the gun in his wounded hand. He can be heard screaming for some medicine.

“I never fired my gun,” Grosskreutz said. “I came there to help people. Didn’t hurt people.”

Grosskreutz said he has run into police in the past and paid off his debt. But he says he had every right to carry his weapon.

He said, “I’m not guilty.” “I have my concealed carry, I’ve had it for years. It was my gun. My weapons. I had a legal right to possess it and hide it.”

Motley, Grosskreutz’s attorney, said Rittenhouse did not have the right to bear arms. He is accused of possessing a dangerous weapon under the age of 18.

In a statement to NBC News, Rittenhouse attorney John Pierce said, “This was a classic self-defense and we are going to prove it. No matter how tough the fight is, we will get Kyle justice about how long it will take.”

Grosskreutz said he never used his gun that night, even after he was shot.

Grosscreutz says the last patient he adopted was himself

Grosskreutz said he did not expect the final patient to be treated that night.

Grosskreutz said he used his own medicine bag and that C.J. With the help of Halliburton, who was bringing the whole incident to life, but stopped to help Grosscruitz, the police were able to put a tourniquet on his arm before taking him to the hospital.

“He was a serious casualty. If I didn’t have the training and the right equipment … to treat a gunshot wound, I probably wouldn’t be here on this visit.”

He described a chaotic scene during the night before the shooting. Houses were damaged and fire was contained by protesters.

He said police used tear gas and rubber bullets.

Before the shooting, the video shows police being friendly with Rittenhouse and giving him water.

“And then they watered the shooter in a timely manner and said they appreciated the shooter,” he said of police showing a video of an incident before the shooting.

Motley said the blame for being mandatory for Ritnhouse’s actions, including law enforcement, did not stop him from going; Facebook for not posting the Kenosha Guard event; The person who gave the gun to Rittenhouse; And anyone who helped Rittenhouse cross state lines after shooting so many people.

“While (Rittenhouse) may be the one who pulled the trigger, there are definitely a lot of people who shoot bullets at a gun.”

Facebook later apologized for missing the Kenosha Guard post. A Facebook spokesperson told CNN that the page violates the company’s policy on military organizations.

When asked why officials did not stop Rittenhouse from leaving the scene, Kenosha Sheriff David Beth told reporters that tunnel vision could come in a high-stress environment like the night of August 25th.

Grosskreutz said he and his 65-year-old grandmother, including his family, were receiving death threats online from people supporting Rittenhouse.

“None of this is true, people are at least saying their assumptions about me,” he said. “I’m not an Antifa terrorist organization. I’m a 22-year-old man. I go to school. And yes, I use my first amendment to protest peacefully.”

Grosscruitz is still being treated by doctors at the same hospital where Jacob Cub Blake is being treated for his gunshot wounds.

Wrighthouse is in prison in Illinois. An extradition hearing is scheduled for Sept. 25 to send him back to Wisconsin, where the charges were brought against him.

“The shooter walked away from there and slept on his bed that night. Some people didn’t get that luxury – two people that night, myself (too), didn’t get that luxury,” Grosskreutz said.

Grosskreutz looked at the floor, tears welling up in his eyes.

“I am going through a difficult day but as I said I am a strong person,” he said. “But everyone hurts in one way or another. That night I walked with my life but two people didn’t.”
