The Ohio State 2022 soccer recruiting class debuts at n. # 2 in 247 Sports Ranking: Buckeyes Recruitment

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State’s soccer program is one of four in the country with multiple commitments in the 2022 recruitment class, as it premieres at n. # 2 behind LSU in the ranking.

247Sports submitted its initial composite ranking for the class, though none of its three commits are ranked in the top 100.

Defensive Jyaire Brown was the first player to join the class in April, and since moving from New Orleans to Ohio, he is the highest ranked player in the class. As a four-star recruit, he is rated the 113th player and 14th cornerback in the class. He is followed by CJ Hicks as player No. 118 and linebacker No. 8, while Tegra Tshabola appears as player No. 144 and offensive tackle No. 15.

Although none of the commits are within the top 100, there are many objectives that are. That starts with quarterback Quinn Ewers and defensive end Shemar Stewart as the top two players in the country. The nation’s widest receiver goal at Caleb Burton is at number 11, while Shawn Murphy, the best inside linebacker, is at number 25. Gabe Powers is Ohio’s only player in the top 100 as player number 46 overall and No .2 external linebacker.

The class features 34 five-star players with defensive end Jeremiah Alexander (Alabama) and cornerback Travis Hunter (Florida State) as the only committers.

There are only 17 schools that made commitments in 2022 and the Buckeyes are one of five that did. Others include Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Purdue.
