The NTSB says the Dell Ernhart Jr. plane crash in 2019 was the pilot’s fault.

The National Transportation Safety Board said the probable cause of the incident in Tennessee was the decisions made by the pilots, which included quick contact with the runway and a failed attempt to leave the landing.

“I don’t need to tell you, we’re really fast,” the co-pilot told the pilot flying the plane shortly before landing.

The agency’s final report concludes that the pilots’ decisions “resulted in bounced landings, loss of aircraft control, crashing landing gear and runway travel”.

The pilot kicked open cabin doors, keeping Dale Ernhart Jr. on the plane on fire and filling with smoke.

The pilots did not use speed brakes and thrust reverse properly to stop the plane, and because of that, they lost the ability to go around and make another attempt at landing.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane, the cation of the cess, turned from the end of the runway and caught fire after landing.

Einerthearts sustained minor injuries, and the pilots were not harmed, the NTSB report said.

All five people were off the plane by the time the fire department arrived, Elizabethton Fire Chief Barry Carrier told CNN on the day of the crash.

The plane was destroyed, according to an NTSB report.
