No, the Nintendo Switch is not a particularly new device. It was first unveiled in October 2016 (aka Long Madness Time) and will hit hit stores next March. The stakes for the switch were high. Nintendo’s last console, the Wii U, was not particularly enthusiastic, especially for serious gamers or the more casual gaming community that was driven to the madness of the Nintendo Wii speed-controlled living room. In the first two months of its existence, Y sold 435,000 units. The Wii U? Is 57,000. One of the pet theories of conspiratorial YouTube compilers is that this is because they were abandoning the Wiis wacky ad strategy when promoting the Wii U (somewhat dubious theory, for sure, but all the same) to win.

To make the long story short, it was Hughes win. The Nintendo Switch, which promised a hybrid experience – just as good a dock with a TV – became Nintendo’s fastest-selling console. The opening slate of its distinctive games was all perfect bangers and really stood out compared to the beautiful repetition. Call of Duty, Assassin’s Creed, Mildly frustrating Star Wars Cycle you got with Xbox and PlayStation. By the end of last year, Nintendo had sold more than 52 million switches, making it its third most popular console release.

Then, the epidemic. You will know the story now. Being forced to stay at home changed all our habits. It makes playing video games, which you can do safely with a bunch of people, that many more people find more interesting. For many of them, the accessible Nintendo Switch (with chill phones and computer games) was exactly what the doctor ordered. And if you didn’t have one already, it was basically impossible to get one.

Needless to say, the Nintendo Switch stock does not exist. It is unavailable at Target, Amazon, Wal Walmart, Best Buy and Game Retail at its usual retail price of 300. But at the moment, Walmart is offering an improved version of the deal that basically sold out in the past week. The deal also includes a switch Mario Kart Deluxe 8 (A game that requires no introduction) and 3 months of Nintendo Online Online (which lets you access multi-line multiplayer lets for a set of games), for the switch’s normal retail prices. That is, by far, the best Nintendo Switch Black Friday deal you’re going to see, and perhaps the best Nintendo Switch deal you’ll see in duration. Seriously, don’t miss it.

Missed the switch deal? Unfortunately, even if you want to pay the full price on a regular basis, Nintendo Switches are still largely out of stock everywhere. Although you can buy a Nintendo Switch Lite, which can run the same things but not dock with your TV. If you’re going to play pretty much just alone or in handheld mode, this isn’t a big discount.
