Apple is set to launch new AirPods and AirPods Pro next year, Bloomberg reported Monday.
It’s a move that could help Apple pull its momentum in the “Wearables, Home and Accessories” business, which posted ની 6.45 billion in revenue in the last quarter, up 16% from the same quarter in 2019. The segment includes accessories such as AirPods, Apple Pulse Watch, Apple TV and case and chargers.
The new AirPods are ready to join the widely expected, high-end over-ear headphones. The company has stopped including wired earpods with its new iPhones, meaning more people may end up buying Apple’s wireless headphones instead.
Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The new regular AirPods with the short stem and replaceable tips, look like the current model of the AirPods Pro, but without canceling the sound. Apple Paul aims to launch them soon in the first half of 2021, according to Bloomberg.
The report says that Apple may remove the stem from the new AirPods Pro. It looks similar to the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live earlier this year. Nevertheless, the new design has proved challenging and the company may stick to a more classic design, the report said.
