Muppets now, the new Muppet series, and the first since 2015 The Muppets – opens on July 31. To usher in the upcoming show, the Muppets met via video chat to discuss the format, production, and celebrity guests, along with their new friend, Joe de Legal.
It’s fun to watch our favorite Muppets, but even more fun to see the backgrounds they choose for the call. Miss Piggy is using a virtual background to make it look like she’s in Paris, of course.
All the Muppets seem very excited about their new Disney Plus adventure, and they went to Twitter to express their joy. But Legal’s Joe is right behind them in a jumble of legal jargon, just to make sure no Muppet is making claims that could get them into trouble. Every team of chaotic chaotic artists needs a stick in the mud like Joe to hold them accountable!
Please just refer to this as a “SPECIAL LOOK” when creating #MuppetsNow. The phrase “behind the curtain” implies both a curtain and the existence of something special behind it. Legally, we cannot encourage looking behind, under, around, or near curtains.

While there is no legal definition of “strange” as used here, I advise you to stop using this word to describe #MuppetsNow. While accurate, it may not be of beneficial interest to #DisneyPlus, or to those of us who hope to get a real job one day.

Muppets Now is an unscripted Muppets show, featuring three different segments around a game show, a cooking show, and a talk show. There will be plenty of celebrity guest appearances, including (but not limited to) Aubrey Plaza, Seth Rogen, and RuPaul.
It arrives at Disney Plus on July 31, with new episodes every Friday.
