The man, who is in his 80s, was having dinner when he found the insect.
According to the BBC, he caught a bug-killing scandal and started sweating on it – unknowingly a gas canister was leaking from the house, which was located in the village of Percaul-Chenaud in southwestern France, according to the BBC.

An electric sweater and a gas reaction caused an explosion that destroyed his kitchen and partially damaged the roof.
