Corpus Christi, Texas – Corpus Christi police have taken a man into custody after they barricaded the inside of a vehicle Sunday afternoon near the Popeys Louisiana kitchen at 13613 Northwest Boulevard in the Five Points area of Clen Lane.
The incident took place at 5 pm and there were no injuries.
The CCPD confirmed that one person fired several rounds in the afternoon. They then included the scene and tried to calm the suspect down.
Police responded to a call at about 2:55 a.m. for a suicide threat.
They then saw that a man believed to be armed was involved. They then called in a SWAT team, using non-lethal ammunition, to bring him into custody.
Police have not released the identity of the arrested person.
Exit Interstate 37 for Northwest Boulevard / Chitti Street 14 was closed for about two hours due to the incident.
Officers are calling 13000 blocks of Northwest Bloodweed with a subject considered armed and dangerous. Please avoid this area altogether.

There is news of someone being injured or someone being shot while roaming. CCPD The shots were fired at 3:15 p.m.
The Texas Department of Public Safety also provided assistance in arresting the suspect.
The standoff took place near the Store Lamarth Super Store where Gabe Cooley, a member of the Kane Lane football team, was fatally attacked two weeks ago.
