The man was arrested outside Vice President Kamala Harris’ official residence and had a rifle and ammunition in his car.

A Washington Metropolitan Police spokesman said authorities on the 3400 block of Massachusetts Avenue, N.W. He was approached by a law enforcement official after a comprehensive intelligence bulletin was released.

DC police say officers arrested and charged 31-year-old Paul Murray of San Antonio and found a rifle and ammunition in his vehicle.

In a police report obtained by CNN, officials said Murray had “an AR-15cm-tomatic rifle, 113 rounds of unregistered ammunition, and five 30-round magazines.”

According to police, he has been charged with multiple counts: carrying a dangerous weapon, carrying a rifle or shotgun tug outside the business, seizing unregistered ammunition and possession of a large-capacity ammunition feeding device.

The U.S. Secret Service said in a statement to CNN that the man was detained by uniformed division officers before Metropolitan Police arrived at the scene.

A Secret Service official said no agency guard was at the residence at the time of the incident.
