UPDATE: The Microsoft Surface Duo award has it now lekt. The updated story remains below:

Following related press releases from the AT&T Surface Duo, today anonymous tipster Panda has published even more images of the product that show it from new angles and give a look at official accessories.

The Surface Duo is compatible with various accessories

The Surface Duo was announced last October and marked Microsoft’s highly anticipated return to the smartphone market. Only this time the company closes Windows for Android and has the product fit with two monitors.

The screens are combined with thick top and bottom rings, as well as relatively thin sides by tablet standards. They connect is a 360 degree metal hinge that can be closely observed in one of the images.

Microsoft has not yet confirmed what accessories will be shipped with the Surface Duo, but the leaked press images suggest that a specially designed bumper case will be included in the box. That will accompany a power adapter and USB-C to USB-C cable.

As already announced last year, the style of Surface Pen is compatible with the Surface Duo. One of the images also points to compatibility with the Surface Buds wireless headphones, which is not very surprising.

Microsoft Surface Duo: Features and Specifications

The first Microsoft smartphone in years will be pre-installed with a customized version of Android 10, instead of Windows 10. As previously announced, this will be combined directly with Spotify, Play Store, and YouTube right out of the box, as will several Microsoft apps including the Edge browser, LinkedIn and Microsoft Teams.
Buyers will be able to use these services on two 5.65-inch displays that, when combined, offer a massive 8.3-inch valuable display of real estate. Things to let go of is the high-end Snapdragon 855 that was used in a wide range of flagships such as the Galaxy Note 10, OnePlus 7 Pro, and Google Pixel 4.
It should be combined with 4G LTE connectivity as standard. Reports also point to the presence of 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, although 128,128 and 256GB variants are rumored for those interested.

Microsoft will mark the Surface Duo as a productivity boost, but it will also include an 11-megapixel camera above the straight display that can be used for taking selfies or scanning documents when folded behind the other display.

To keep things running, Microsoft has reported the device with a 3,460mAh battery. One type of fast charging support is to be expected, but whether the battery life will be impressive remains to be seen.

Microsoft Surface Duo release date, availability, price

The Microsoft Surface Duo was officially planned for the fourth quarter of 2020 when it was announced last year, but an earlier launch could now be on the cards. Microsoft has scheduled an internal briefing this week and recent reports have called for a release on Monday, August 24th.

Once available, anyone interested would pick it up unlocked through the Microsoft Store and partners with retailers. As far as carriers are concerned, AT&T is expected to offer the smartphone smartphone hybrid in the US, although there is no word on international availability.

Unfortunately, Microsoft has not yet announced the price tag of the Surface Duo. But according to the previously mentioned tipster, the Surface Duo will start at $ 1,400 in the United States, making it more expensive than the Galaxy Z Flip ($ 1,380) but cheaper than the Motorola Razr ($ 1,499).
