The Las Vegas Riders defense has yet to improve

Blame it on injuries, blame it on coaching.

Blame it on whomever you want.

The point is, the Las Vegas Raiders have a long way to go.

This past Sunday, Silver and Blake cleared 326 yards thrown by quarterback Justin Herbert.

Raiders quarterback Derek Carey has literally doubled that.

His rush defense was very good, allowing only 128 yards on the ground.

As the riders enter the middle of their season, their defense still has a lot to improve.

Las Vegas ranks 23rd in the league when it comes to total offensive yards per game.

With the Broncos on the dock, despite the injuries, riders will have to improve their defense.

In the modern NFL, teams cannot simply win games without effective defense.

“We need to get better,” said head coach John Gruden. “We met twice at home. Obviously, we were without [DT] Maurice Hurst and [DE] Arden Key. We asked [DE] Chris Smith step up. We activated [DT] Daniel Ross. [DT Johnathan] When Hankins returned, he had not had a baby with his wife all week. Those people hard plate. You have to tip your hat on them and you really have to respect playing the game that way. They play hard. We have to keep getting better and that is what we will try to do in the second half of the season. ”

Has defense improved since week 1? Yes. Last week, the riders booked two more bags thanks to the efforts of Max Crosby and Carl Naseeb.

But as Gruden said, there is still a long way to go in the Las Vegas defense.
