The Knicks released Allonzo Trier, signed former Net Theo Pinson


Well, you can’t accuse Leon Rose of sitting on his hands. The Knicks team president continues his quest to rebuild the list, at least on the sidelines, this week. On Thursday he released two-way contractor Kadeem Allen for former Suns G Leaguer Jared Harper. Not to be outdone, cute Allonzo Trier from the regular 15-man roster on Friday to sign former Brooklyn Net Theo Pinson.

Pinson starred in the UNC Tar Heels before signing with the Nets two years ago as an undrafted free agent. He appeared in 51 NBA games and averaged 3.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. Here he is dropping 19 points against a collection of scrubs.

As for Trier, he became a debate figure during his two years in New York. He certainly had his share of supporters, most of whom started their defense of the 6’5 “guard with the statement,” The real hoopers know … “In fact, Game 1 of the 2019-20 season began as But he never had much playing time this season, and it seemed like the office was getting tired of him, he also spent too much time on Twitter sending DM to his critics.
