When Urban Meyer held his inaugural press conference in January, he stressed the need to keep top-ranked coaching staff.
Jacksonville has now completed that process, releasing a list of 31-member staff on Thursday.
As previously reported, Darrell Bewell is the team’s offensive coordinator, Jul Cullen is the defensive coordinator, Brian Schneider is the coordinator of special teams, and Brian Schottenheimer is the passing game coordinator. Charlie Strong is Jacksonville’s assistant head coach and inside linebackers coach.
The mayor retained five former coaching staff members, including offensive line coach George Whophop, Cornbacks coach Tim Vonton, Nickles defensive backs coach Joe Danna, assistant linebackers coach Tony Gilbert, and assistant strength coach Cedric Scott.
Elsewhere in the offense, Jacksonville named Sanjay Lal as wide receivers coach, Tyler Bowen as tight end coach, Bernie Parmali Becks as coach, Todd Washington as assistant offensive line coach, Quinton Genther as offensive quality control, and Will Harrier as offensive assistant.
On defense, the Jaguars had defensive line coach Tosh Lupoi, outside linebackers coach Zach Orr, safety coach Chris Ash, assistant defensive line coach Sterling Lucas, defensive quality control coach Patrick Rally and senior defensive lineman.
Carlos Polk is Jacksonville’s assistant special team coach.
The mayor’s group also includes Chris Dale, director of sports performances, who signed a $ 1.1 million separation deal from Iowa last June after he was accused of making racist and belting comments on players. Per Associated Press, Doll denied any “immoral behavior or prejudice” based on the race.
