The Hubble Telescope observed this magnificent galaxy for nine hours

Astronomers worked hard to get a glamor shot of this galaxy.

“It’s not easy to see this good,” NASA wrote on Friday. “Nine0 different exposures, for a total of nine hours of observation time, with high resolution and Hubble clarity, were required to produce such a high level of detail and an image of beauty.”

This is the Galaxy NGC 5643, some of which are located 60 crores Light years from Earth. It is a galaxy-like spiral galaxy, meaning it has a weapon that protrudes from its center. The central region of the galaxy is very bright due to the dense accumulation of clustered stars in that region.

(In our galaxy, the Sun is located in one of the outer galaxies.)

The Hubble Space Telescope orbits the Earth’s atmosphere, allowing it to obtain clear images of galaxies and planets without distortion from the gases in our atmosphere. Orbiting the Earth for more than three decades, Hubble has traveled more than 4 billion miles. It is powered by the sun.

NASA’s next pay generation space telescope, the James Webb Web Space Telescope, is expected to enter space by the end of 2021. With a mirror twice the size of Hubble, it’s huge. James Webb will look into the oldest ths depths of the universe.

“It will study every phase in the history of our universe, from the first bright glow since the Big Bang, to the creation of solar systems capable of supporting life on Earth-like planets and the evolution of our own solar system.” NASA.
