Georgia Republican Party President David Schaefer took to Twitter on Monday to suggest that election officials in Fulton County tried to pull off a quick election night.
County election officials “told the media and our observers that they were closing the tabulation center at State Farm Arena at 10:30 on election night, just to continue counting ballots at 1:00 a.m. Thursday,” Schaefer said.
He went on to say, “No one disputes that Fulton County election officials incorrectly announced that the ballot count will close at 10:30 p.m. Is. “
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Monday that election officials in the state have found no evidence of misconduct. The report of this paper states that there have been cases of “minor issues” due to human error.
Richard Barrow, head of the Fulton County Elections, told the Journal-Constitution that he sent all his workers home around 10:30 on election night. The paper states that the G.O.P. Observers “thought it was all over for the night.” But a handful of counters stayed up until 1 a.m. to count the votes with the state observer. Barron told the paper that G.O.P. Observable is welcome.
Schaefer said media outlets would “gaslight you” when they claimed there was no evidence of “election irregularities”.
All eyes on Georgia Senate Runoff
President Trump has taken a vested interest in the Peach State and reps retweeting Schaefer’s post to further the report’s efforts. Dr. Doug Collins, R-Ga. Collins said he is confident Trump’s victory in the state will be “improperly harvested ballots and other irregularities that will prove”.
On Saturday, Fulton County resumed scanning of some of the votes counted on Friday. County officials said they noticed some ballots were not counted properly or scanned. County spokeswoman Jessica Corbett said workers would re-save the ballot group in question and they would re-post the results later.
The paper states that Sense. Kelly Lofler and David Perdue, both of whom could decide the fate of the Republican Party in the Senate, called for the resignation of Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Rafensparger.
“Georgia voters hired me, and voters will fire me.” “As Secretary of State, I will continue to fight every day to ensure fair elections in Georgia, that every legal vote counts, and illegal votes do not count.”
The New York Times reports that Rafansperger appointed a monitor to oversee the county, which the paper says they say is “one of our long-standing problems in Democrat-run counties.”
Schaefer and Rafansparger did not immediately respond to Fox News inquiries.
The Trump 2020 campaign and Georgia’s Republican Party filed a lawsuit in the state on Wednesday, alleging that democratically-minded county officials were counting the presidential vote that was received after the polls closed on Tuesday.
International observers from the American organization American States say they have not seen any instances of fraud or voting irregularities in the US presidential election, according to the Associated Press.
