Danger!
It is one of the oldest and most beloved game shows in television history. A big draw is that fans love to play at home, testing their knowledge on a variety of different topics, from history to pop culture.
Armchair course Danger! Contestants don’t have as much at stake as the people who hit the show, and they don’t have as much pressure to perform well. Statistically, certain topics are easier to understand compared to more difficult topics that almost no one can master.
And then there is an issue that Alex Trebek had to calm down because literally no one could get a single correct answer.

Danger! it has a unique format compared to other game programs
Instead of trying to guess the answer in Danger!, the contestants try to guess the question. This takes a little time to get used to and forces participants to rethink their approach to curious facts.
Only smart people make it to the show, but being the most read person in the room is no guarantee of success. Danger! Contestants must also be able to think, and press the bell, quickly, plus they need the element of luck on their side. The categories change with each episode and, although they seem to be getting easier over the decades, it is still a difficult game.
Notoriously difficult ‘Danger!’ categories
The format for Danger! It has remained the same over the years, but the categories change with the changing interests of the audience. Still, the writers for the show know they can’t make it too easy to win, so they include tracks from the more challenging categories, according to Reader’s Digest.
The most difficult categories include Canadian Cities (which Canadian host Trebek must appreciate), National Marine Sanctuaries, Foo Fighters (over the band), States that flow together (“Each correct answer will be two states. Still, the difficulty of the category depends on the specific knowledge of the contestants. English learners could have mastered the category of journalism cliches, while a student of classical music could have easily obtained all the clues in that domain.
Jeopardy’s hardest category!
The most difficult category on the show had to do with soccer trivia. During one episode of the show, no contestant was able to get a single correct answer until finally only the $ 1,000 clue, the most difficult, remained on the board.
The lifelong host, Trebek, made a joke of the whole thing. “Let’s look at the $ 1,000 track just for fun,” he joked. “If you call and get this … I will die.”
The next time “Soccer” appeared as a category, Trebek made it easy for contestants to avoid another awkward situation. “Now, last year, we had some difficulties with the football category,” he said. “So we thought we would try again, but this category is entirely about the signals from the referees. And I’m going to give the signals to three players. OK?”
He then proceeded to act out the signs to help the contestants get the correct answer. It worked.
