The SEC chose to move to a 10-game, conference-only format at the end of July. It announced the two additional opponents two weeks ago and announced each school’s opening game of the season earlier on Monday afternoon. This evening the full schedule was revealed.
“We have made every effort to create a scheme that is as competitive as possible and builds on the existing eight conference games that were already in place before 2020,” SEC Commissioner SEC San Greg Twakey said two weeks ago. “This scheme is a one-year anomaly that we have developed under unique circumstances presented by the impact of COVID-19.”
Earlier in the day, the SEC announced the opening of the season for its only-ever conference, and the Crimson Tide is set to launch its 2020 campaign en route to Missouri on Saturday, September 26th. Dates for the rest of the schedule were announced on the SEC Network at 6 p.m.
