‘The Five’ reacts to Trump’s tweet asking if elections can be delayed: ‘This is wild’

The “Five” co-hosts reacted Thursday to President Trump’s tweet asking if the November general election could be delayed.

While co-host Jesse Watters argued that the tweet was a “mischievous” suggestion, but spoke about major concerns about mail-in ballots, co-host Juan Williams rejected Trump’s involvement.

“I believe President Trump won in 2016, but there is no evidence of any fraud related to absentee voting or voting by mail in this country,” Williams said.

TRUMP SUGGESTS THAT THE ELECTION IS DELAYED, WARN VOTES BY MAIL TO RESULT IN A VOTE ‘UNNACCURATED AND FRAUDULENT’

In a tweet in which he stated that practicing on a “universal” scale would lead to “the most INACCURATE AND FRAUDULENT election in history,” Trump suggested: “Delaying the election until people can vote properly, safely and safe?”

Williams said she believed Trump’s tweet was “the action of a man who knows he is losing and is willing to destroy democracy and destroy our Constitution because he is very upset.”

Trump and many Republicans have expressed concern in recent months about the security of mail ballots, but this is the first time Trump has mentioned the possibility of changing the election. Presumed Democratic candidate Joe Biden previously said “[m]Arch my words, I think he will try to delay the elections in some way, think of some reason why it cannot be held. That’s the only way you think you can win. “

“Joe Biden predicted this in April,” recalled Williams. “Joe Biden said … ‘Trump will try to delay the elections.’ What was the answer? ‘Biden is spreading conspiracy theories …’

“Well,” added Williams, “Trump went there today. This is crazy.”
