The first chapter of Tell Me Why is coming to Xbox One this August and can be played on Xbox Game Pass as soon as it launches. According to the official description, “you play as twins Alyson and Tyler as they use their special bond to unravel the mysteries of their loving but troubled childhood. Set in beautiful Alaska, Tell Me Why features real characters, mature themes, and gripping options.”
Livvy Hall, Community Manager at Xbox Game Studios says, “Tell me why it is the story of two twins, Alyson and Tyler Ronan, who meet for the first time in ten years after their mother’s death. Upon returning to their A childhood home in rural Alaska, the Ronans realize that their shared past may not be as they remember it. ” Hall adds that “the twins seek closure because of what they remember about the death of their mother, Mary-Ann.” Memories will be a “key part of Tyler and Alyson’s journey” as well as “great game mechanics”. The twins have a Bond, which you will use “as one of many ways to uncover the truth about the events surrounding his mother’s death. The player’s choices with the Bond will influence Tyler and Alyson’s relationship for the better or for the worse, as well as altering the course of the game through branching dialogues and dramatic actions. “
Hall says DONTNOD Entertainment and Xbox Game Studios “conducted on-the-spot investigations and partnered closely with transgender, mental health and cultural advocates to ensure Tell Me Why is truly representative of the identities it represents.”
Tell Me Why has three chapters, each of which will launch a week apart, beginning with Chapter One on August 27, with the gap between each chapter ensuring that “fans have the means to discuss their experiences, share theories and possibly explore new paths of history in the middle chapters. “
Tell Me Why will be available for Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam, and will also be available on Xbox Game Pass for console and PC from day one.
Twins Alyson and Tyler Ronan return to their small Alaskan town to sell their childhood home. As they analyze the memories, ghostly images from her childhood cast doubt on what they remember of her mother’s last days.
