In a surprise move, the Miami Dolphins are releasing quarterback Josh Rosen instead of trading for him, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schaefter on Friday.
The Dolphins may decide to keep it and – a salary of 7 50,750,000 – as a backup, but they see more value in cutting back and recovering some trade value.
It marks the second tweak to Rosen in the last 17 months and puts a cap on a massively unsuccessful tenure in Miami. It also gives Rosen a fresh start and a rare third chance to save his NFL career.
