Keros Taylor was knocked out of the Chargers’ game against Kansas City on Sunday in a tragic accident in which his lung was punctured by a team doctor.
Taylor received an injection before the game to help him manage to manage his pain from a rib injury. During the procedure, her lungs accidentally punctured, causing Taylor to struggle to breathe. He was replaced by rookie Justin Herbert just moments before the kickoff fun.
The idea that Taylor suffered a punctured lung was first suggested by David Chao, a former doctor on the team for the Chargers. On the podcast, Chao explained that he had no knowledge of the situation and had not consulted with anyone from the team. But, giving details, he explained that punctured lungs are a “known complication” of such injections.
On Monday, Chargers coach Anthony Lynn did not go into detail but admitted there were difficulties during the bias process performed on Taylor. He also reiterated his postgame comments that Taylor Chargers would be a starter if and when he would be perfectly healthy.
“Tyrod Taylor did nothing to lose his job,” Lee said. “It wasn’t his fault he wasn’t on the field.”
Lynn said he would not start his next game of the Chargers, against Carolina at Sophie Stadium on Sunday, until further clarification about Taylor’s health. Except Taylor is “100%”, as Lee described it, expected to start against the Herbert Panthers.
