When the Clown Prince of Crime gets Bruce Wayne’s money in his hands, bad things will happen, as is evident in this preview of Batman # 97 on August 18. As the core of the extensive ‘The Joker’s War’ event, James Tynion IV and Jorge Jiménez’s Batman arc find the Joker stocking up on his war against the Dark Knight.
Check out our first look without writing the problem:
The Joker’s army is growing hour after hour, with weapons beyond anything the Clown Prince of Crime has used before, “says DC’s request for the issue.” Batman must hold his mind together in order to deliver the final blow and reclaim his city, but how can he heal the cracks he has created in his life to get the help he needs?
But Batman is not alone, as his allies now include his girlfriend Catwoman, who is sometimes putting together an army of her own.
“So Catwoman definitely plays a very central role and plays a key role in the climax of the ‘War of the Joker’ story,” Tynion told Newsarama earlier. “But also, her actions in ‘Joker War’ will help set the stage for, honestly, the next few years of Batman stories.”
But then again, Joker has his new ally Punchline, which DC has been heavily promoting as his next big character.
Batman # 97 is the third chapter in the ‘The Joker War’ title story, but one of 27 themes DC has related to this event, which concludes in Batman # 100 milestone.
