The CVC panel will vote on the Covid-19 vaccine priority to meet on Tuesday


Atlanta – U.S. A panel of advisers will meet on Tuesday to vote on how rare the rare supply of COVID-19 vaccine will be once it is approved.

Experts have first proposed vaccinating health workers. High priority may also be given to workers in essential industries, people with certain medical conditions, and people 65 years of age or older.

Tuesday’s meeting is of an advisory committee on immunization practices set up by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. A panel of experts recommends who should be vaccinated and when – the advice is almost always followed by the government. The agenda for next week’s emergency meeting was set for Friday.

Pfizer and its German partner Bioentech have asked the Food and Drug Administration to allow emergency use of its COVID-19 vaccine candidate. Modernna Inc. Emergency use of its vaccine is also expected soon.

The FDA’s scientific advisers are holding a public meeting on December 10 to review Pfizer’s request and send a recommendation to the FDA.

Manufacturers have already begun stopping coronavirus vaccine doses in anticipation of final approval, but the first shot will be in short supply and rationed.
