If ever an actress was selected in part, it was Elizabeth Debicki in the role of Princess Diana.
Willowy beauty Elizabeth, who turns 30 tomorrow, will be the glamorous royal in the last two seasons of Netflix drama The Crown.
And she has little doubt that it will be the biggest TV role of her career to date.
Elizabeth said: ‘It is my real privilege and honor to be a part of this masterful series, which has absolutely hooked me on episode one.
“The spirit of Princess Diana, her words and her actions live in the hearts of so many.”

A bombshell in the hugely successful series The Night Manager, Elizabeth will take over the part from Emma Corrin, who appears as a young Diana in series four.
Elizabeth also made an impact as socialite Jordan Baker in the 2013 film The Great Gatsby.
And she stars with Kenneth Branagh and Robert Pattinson in the sci-fi action movie Tenet, which opens in theaters on Wednesday.
Elizabeth has worked with some of the biggest names in showbiz – but it’s a wrinkly rocker instead of a dizzying actor who has left her mostly starstruck.
She described her first encounter with Mick Jagger – they were together in the 2019 film The Burnt Orange Heresy – as surreal. She said: ‘I will never forget the first time I met him in a hair and makeup room.
‘Mick is not only a legend, he is an icon. I mean, he’s the Rolling Stones. What’s shorter than that? I did not even know what a fan I was until I met him.
‘He immediately makes it clear that he has no air over him. It was fascinating to work with him and to be around him, because he has more energy in his body and mind than probably you and I combined on our best days, while we were very caffeinated. ‘
The couple got along so well that they exchanged phone numbers, which led to a funny moment with a member of their family.
Elizabeth’s sister was visiting her home in London when Sir Mick called. She told her back, ‘I was busy taking out the trash as if sweating across the stove of things from the real things people do when my phone rang. When my sister saw the screen, she said, ‘Mick Jagger is calling!’
“So I called immediately, picked up the phone and answered very coolly, ‘Hello.'”
Elizabeth, now worth about £ 1.5 million, lives a quiet life, splitting her time between places in central London and Los Angeles, where one of her time pairs grows lavender.
The other hobby of the 6ft 3in star is ballet, which she plans to record again. She said: ‘It’s been a long time since I wore any ballet shoes. I will be like the elephant trembling around the room. ‘
She has no interest in flash cars because she can not drive.
What’s more, she shakes all forms of social media and refuses to comment on speculations about her love life.
Elizabeth was romantically linked to Tom Hiddleston, whom she co-starred with Hugh Laurie in the award-winning adaptation of John Le Carré’s 2016 novel The Night Manager.
Elizabeth has never confirmed the rumor and describes herself as currently single.
She was born in Paris to a Polish father and Australian mother, both professional ballet dancers.
The eldest of three children, Elizabeth was six when the family moved to Australia and she grew up in Melbourne.
Because of her mixed heritage and exotic early years, she described herself as an emotional melting pot.
She said: ‘I loved dancing and I had dreams of becoming a ballerina. But when I was in my early teens, I was attending a summer school for the Australian National Ballet and I saw that I was superior to my ballet teacher.
“That’s when I started to think it was probably wise to choose another profession. I continued to take lessons in contemporary dance. ”
Her parents hoped she would take a law degree, but she opted for drama at the University of Melbourne. ‘
Elizabeth likes to play mysterious characters because she said, ‘I’m the worst mysterious person on earth. And every time I try to perform that or present myself in a very serious way, I can never keep that pretense for more than five seconds. ‘
In Tenet, with Michael Caine, also starring, she plays the foreign wife of Branagh’s Russian oligarch character who ‘puts herself in a very difficult situation’ in an octane story filmed in seven countries.
She said: “It’s a much higher feeling to think that the film I made last year, after so many months, could be one of the first things in cinemas.”
