The Cleveland Indians lead the AL Central in a tie with a 14-2 rout of the St. Louis Cardinals.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Indian Heaters pitched on Friday at St. Louis pitching in the Cardinals’ 14-2 rout at Bush Stadium.

The victory moved Cleveland to a three-way tie with the White Sox and inactive twins in the American League Central Division rankings. All three teams have the same 20-12 record.

The 23-year-old Wright also gave the Indian pitcher Tristan McKenzie a four-run lead before Cardinal’s starter Daniel Ponce de Leon hit the mound in Francis Reyes’ three-run first innings. Another game broke open.

Reyes, who hit six of his team’s top-seven home runs on the road, said it was a kind of game that could have a long lasting effect on crime.

“It gives all my teammates a chance to think on the positive side,” Reyes said. “Don’t lose faith and don’t work hard, the day is coming. When you get the night where you have two or three hits, the next day 100 percent you come up with a good, positive mindset. ”

When Tyler Naquin hit a two-run shot from a foul pole in the right field in the fifth, he pulled Cleveland’s advantage to six. It was Naukin’s first home run in 2020. It starts at 14 with five doubles, one triple and eight RBIs in the up five8 after recovering from a top fracture.

Santana, who had a career-high four-run match, now has a base 494 hit in his career with Cleveland, short of the seventh-ranked duo of Lou Lou Boudreau in the franchise’s all-time list. Executive manager Sandy Alomer Jr. praised the work of the experienced first baseman after saying that other hitters could swing early in the countdown as Saints lengthened his bats and could see them pitch.

“He can go there and do the clock work and give other hitters the ability to hit the surprise,” Alomar said. “It’s in the middle and it’s the glue of Professional at Bates.”

Five Indian players collected several hits, including Reyes, Delino DeShields Jr. and Roberto Perez, who had three descents. Reyes added a base-loaded two-run single in sixth place for a career-high five RBI. He completed a triple shrinkage of the cycle and is batting from his final 19 starts with 39 W and six home runs, 19 RBIs and 1.147 OPS.

Jose Ramirez and Francisco Linder also continued to move in the right direction on the plate, leading with doubles and three runs in each of the two-for-4. In the first inning, Lindor stole the ball through a wild throw by Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina, who allowed Ramirez to take home from third for Cleveland’s first run. The Saints followed along with the walk before Ray started his 428-foot shot-to-right center field.

However, things were not entirely easy on an Indian basis.

After back-to-back singles by Cesar Hernandez and Ramirez in the second, Linder swam in an extremely rare double play. First baseman Paul Goldsmith threw Molina at home, who tagged Hernandez running towards the plate and then chased Ramirez and went second. When Lindor was first aggressively rounded, Molina made a move towards him and threw sector fielder Dylan Carlson in second. Ramirez applied the tag to Carland before he could dive back to base while Linder retreated first.

According to Elias Sports, it was the first 3-2-8 double game in the baseball expansion era (since 1961).

“It was a tough play,” Alomar said. “Jose should be going there right now. He hesitated a bit and that led to it, but it happens. “

Meanwhile, the following three hitters in Cleveland’s lineup joined four RBIs to go 6-for-14. Cleveland’s 7-9 hitters entered the game on Friday.1040 (42-for-301) with 10 extra base hits, 29 RBIs and 25 runs scored.

Mackenzie allowed two runs on three hits before reaching his pitch limit in the fourth. Smoke went out three and three went away, just no decision from his second big league start. Alom said Yuvastar could miss sitting in two long innings when his teammates batted early in the game.

“I don’t know if he threw it for the loop, but his command wasn’t there like the first time,” Alomar said. “He was laboring in the innings.”

Cam Hill worked fifth scoreless to pick up his first win, and Adam Plutko stayed with four scoreless frames to save his second career.

Next: Saturday’s series continues, as the Indians send Carlos Carresco (4.-4, 50.50 ERA) on a pitch against St. Louis right-hander Jack Flaherty (2-0, 1.98). The first pitch is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. The game will be broadcast nationally on Fox while WTM 1100 and WMMS 100.7 FM will broadcast the game locally.
