The bracelet by Meghan Markle of Gloria Steinem has a special message

Meghan Markle received a special gift from Gloria Steinem when the couple sat down for a “backyard chat” for Makers Women.

For the occasion, the Duchess of Sussex, 39, wore a beaded bracelet designed by the 86-year-old feminist legend that reads: “Imagine we are linked, not ranking”, a reference to the importance of women who ‘ t support each other instead of competing against each other.

“I love this,” Markle said during the interview.

“Well, you know actually, ‘we are not linked ranking’ is the shortest way I have ever found to say what our goal is,” Steinem replied.

The Duchess replied, “It means everything to me at every level; we are not linked ranking.”

While the Steinem-designed bracelet is currently sold out in both the black and silver color of Markle, as a red option, the jewelry will be redesigned. The bracelets are priced at $ 48, with all proceeds benefiting Feminist.com.

Markle – who also discussed voter oppression, the need for representation and the feminist ideals of Prince Harry during her conversation with Steinem – completed her California cool outfit with a light white T-shirt, striped Anine Bing pants ($ 250 ), black Stella McCartney sandals ($ 795) and a straw sun hat by Janessa Leone ($ 356).

It is hardly the first time that the Duchess wears symbolic jewelry.

She recently wore an evil-eye pendant during a video call for charity, and her Prince Harry diamond eternity ring has both her birth stones, along with her son Archie’s. Before marrying 35-year-old Harry, she even wore a gold chain with “H” and “M” initials that apparently got her into trouble with palace assistants.
