The Cincinnati Bengals have signed Tee Higgins to their rookie contract, the team announced Tuesday. This comes just hours after the team agreed to a deal with Joe Burrow, so the team’s entire NFL 2020 Draft class is now complete.
Higgins, who weighs 6-4 and 216 pounds, was selected 33rd overall in this year’s draft. He spent the past three seasons (2017-19) with the Clemson Tigers, where he totaled 135 career catches for 2,448 yards and 27 touchdowns (tied school record).
Last season, Higgins caught 59 passes for 1,167 yards and 13 scores for Clemson on the way to his career toward the national title game, where they lost to Burrow and the LSU Tigers.
During his three seasons at Clemson, Higgins helped the Tigers to a combined record of 41-3 and three spots in the College Football Playoff, including a National Championship in the 2018 season.
Higgins will now compete for playing time in what will be a deep receiving group in 2020, although AJ Green and John Ross will become free agents next year.
