The following title of Batman: Arkham Origins studio WB Games Montreal will finally get its official reveal on Saturday.
In the last few years, the studio has dropped a number of teasers that seem to point to a new Batman game inspired by the Court of Owls stripline. We’ll finally see exactly where it’s going during the DC FanDome event, with the official schedule (you must register to watch it) Post a “Warner Bros. Games Montreal Announcement” on Saturday, August 22nd at 10:30 am PDT / 1:30 pm EDT / 6:30 pm BST.
“Gamers! You will not want to miss this first look at an exciting new game, and Q&A with its developers,” reads the synopsis text. The online panel is set to run for a total of 20 minutes, and anyone can view the event by registering for DC FanDome.
Rumors have pointed to the next project of WB Games Montreal, a “soft restart” of the Arkham franchise, which will launch a shared “DC Game Universe”, which will also be occupied by Rocksteady’s new Suicide Squad project. It could also have more playable members of the Bat family, as well as introduce co-op multiplayer (which Rocksteady was openly not interested in their Arkham games) to the Batman formula.
According to rumors, the WB Games’ Batman project was originally slated to launch later this year – presumably for Rocksteady’s new Suicide Squad project. However, there is a strong possibility that the COVID-19 pandemic will have adjusted those plans, assuming the rumors were just to begin with. Hopefully we will find out for sure when the panel goes live next week.
Speaking of Rocksteady, we’ll get it our first official look at his Suicide Squad game current DC FanDome.
