Two brothers had a close call with a great white shark off the coast of Australia.
Lee and Adam Ferguson had the encounter in front of the camera when the shark bit into the boat they were in, according to an interview published Sunday by 7NEWS Australia.
The brothers had been fishing off Carnac Island for about an hour and a half early Friday morning when they encountered the shark. (RELATED: Gigantic white shark caught on video by fishermen)
“Adam saw something on Burley’s path and said ‘it’s a big fish’ and I said ‘it’s not a big fish, it’s a big shark,'” Lee told the media.
CLOCK:
“There were a couple of times it got too close, I tried to hit it with the GoPro and I couldn’t move it, so yeah, very heavy, very strong,” said Lee.
The boat’s engine, ladder, and transducer were damaged in the encounter with the shark. Despite the extremely close encounter, Lee stated that he did not feel they were in “immediate danger.”
“That was awkward,” said Lee. “However, we do not feel in immediate danger.”
However, Lee’s face in this video is crazy. I think he didn’t feel like he was in danger considering he’s the calmest I’ve ever seen someone while standing so close to a great white shark.
I don’t know how someone could be so calm during this type of meeting.
