PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Allegheny County Health Department is reporting a jump to 61 new cases of Coronavirus on Friday and two additional deaths.
That is most cases in two months.
The county total is now 2,382 as of March 14. This includes 2,239 confirmed cases and 143 probable cases.
Authorities report 379 patients have been or are currently hospitalized among all cases, with one patient more hospitalized since Thursday’s report. Of the hospitalized patients, 148 of them have required ICU care, and 73 of them have required ventilator treatment.
The death toll is 186, with 174 confirmed deaths and 12 that are probable. A probable death is when a person had not had a positive test for COVID-19.
Deaths have been in individuals aged 23-103. The youngest patients are 23 and 42 years old. The median age of the deceased is 84 years.

The Health Department says that 53% of all Coronavirus patients are women, and 47% of them are men.
The highest number of cases remains in the age range 25-49 with 35%. The age group of 65 years or more has the second highest number of cases with 28%, and the group of 50-64 years is the third with 25%.

- 12-05 – 28 (1%)
- 13-18 – 42 (2%)
- 19-24 – 206 (9%)
- 25-49 – 832 (35%)
- 50-64 – 586 (25%)
- 65 + – 668 (28%)
Health officials say 51,386 people have been tested for COVID-19 across the county.
