Since it’s clear that the easiest way for everyone to reduce the spread of COVID-19 is to wear a mask, NFL teams are promoting the use of masks in hopes that the football season can start on time. The 49ers have found a creative way to do it.

The 49ers’ Twitter posted the message: “Be a saint. Grab a face mask ”with a video of George Kittle’s catch-and-run game to establish the winning field goal at last season’s game in New Orleans. That play ended with Saints safety Marcus Williams shamelessly grabbing and pulling Kittle’s mask in a desperate attempt to take him down.

The message comes after Saints coach Sean Payton boarded the pro-mask train with a public service announcement this week.

Everyone should be on board the pro-mask train. When you are in public, you should wear a mask over your mouth and nose. The new coronavirus spreads through the respiratory droplets, and when the mouth and nose are covered, those droplets and the virus do not spread. When the mouth and nose are not covered, those drops and the virus spread. Everyone should wear a mask.
