Coach Kyle Shanah said Monday that 49 people expect wide receiver Debo Samuel to miss the next two games with a hamstring strain.
Samuel will miss the 49th Sunday game against the Seattle Seahawks, and he is unlikely to return to the field when the team takes action against the Green Bay Packers in Week 9 next Thursday.
Running back Jeff Wilson will go to the injured reserve this weekend with a sprained left ankle sprain, Shanah said. Any player who goes to the IR must miss at least three games.
Wide receiver and return man Richie James is day-to-day with the ankle.
Shanah said he hopes to be available to play against Tevin Coleman (knee), Nickel Beck K’won Williams (knee) and safe Jimmy W. Ward (quadriceps) and Jacques Tart (groin) Seahawks. He said the decisions would not be known until next week after seeing the practice.
Samuel injured his hamstring in the fourth quarter of the 49ers’ 33-6 win over the New England Patriots on Sunday.
The recipient missed the first three games of the 49th season after starting the season on the injured reserve as he returned from surgery to repair a fractured left leg. He has 185 yards and 16 catches for a touchdown, while receiving 14 yards in six escape attempts.
The 49ers have 14 players on the injured reserve, although Nickel Beck or Vaughan Williams are expected to return to practice this week after missing three games with a knee sprain.

Wilson, a third-year pro, had his best game in the NFL on Sunday with three touchdowns on 112 yards and 17 carry. He survived a left-ankle injury on a touch-yard touchdown run in the middle of the third quarter. After leaving the field under his own power, he took the 49ers to the locker room on a cart.
James has appeared in three games after missing four weeks with a hamstring injury. He still has one pass left to catch, and he averaged 10 yards on two punt returns and 20.0 yards on three kickoff returns.
Wilson landed in the lead role of the 49ers on Sunday against the Patriots. On the injured reserve are Rahim Mustert (ankle) and Tavin Coleman (knee). Mustart will miss at least two more games. Coleman has not played since the 49ers won the Week 2 New York Jets.
The 49ers have only two healthy backs: Jericho McKinnon and Unfrack Rookie Jemical Hasty.

McKinnon is second with 49 touchdowns at 210 yards and three touchdowns on 44 carriages. He has an average of 8.8-yards. McKinnon added 117 yards and 17 receptions for a touchdown.
Hasty has 103 yards on 20 attempts (5.2 average). He also has two catches for 25 yards.
This could encourage Austin Walter to run back from the 49ers practice squad. Walter passed the 2019 training camp with 49 people as a rice-proof rookie.
