This year there’s really out here already trying to tell us August, huh? If you’re anything like me, you’ve already binged your way through the second season of The Umbrella Academy (maybe more than once, who needs to say it?) and you’re looking for a new series to sink your teeth into this month. Fortunately, the Netflix content engine can not stop, will not stop offering valuable new shows, which is very graceful as so many of us suddenly find ourselves at home all the time.

You can find a full list of what’s new for Netflix here in a month, but as usual it’s a very overwhelming wall of text, so we’ve put together our handy monthly guide for some new arrivals to put on your radar. And as you might expect, there is something for everyone. If you were one of the millions who were attracted Avatar: The Last Airbender over the summer you can look forward to the arrival of the sequel The Legend of Korra in August. Elsewhere in animation, there’s the whole comedy for adults Hoops. Docuseries fans have a lot to look forward to this month, including the harrowing Immigration Nation and a look into the wellness culture sector with (Un) good.

August is also a month apart for a few series. Lucifer fans got a proposal, and this month’s drop 5 will now lead into sixth and (assumed, but yes, we’ve heard that before) season. However, The rain, Trinkets, en 3% will all be releasing their latest episodes this month. Check out the details on all of our picks below, and for more, you can find the best new movies on Netflix in August here.
