On Sunday morning, a shocking report came out that Texas safety B.J. Foster chose to leave the team during the third quarter of the season opener against UTEP.
It looked like things were going as nicely as possible on the Texas sidelines. With the limited se fisson work due to the epidemic in COVID-19, coupled with the many new faces of the roster and coaching staff, Texas looked basically equipped, ready, agile and impressive depth in almost every location.
Two new coordinators and seven new assistant coaches do not favor every player. No one is given a starting role or time to play in the program because of your past production or length. It seems that Foster did not win the initial role and was disappointed with his lack of role against UTEP.
Rival reporter Anwar Richardson released shocking news on Sunday. It remains to be seen whether Foster regrets his decision in the heat of the moment.
Foster broke his arm in June after punching the car, but managed to start voluntary workouts shortly after the injury. Secondary talent in Texas is incredible, so any missed time is an opportunity for another player to move on.
In Texas’ first official depth depth chart, defensive back Chris Brown appeared to win an early role in strong safety. Foster was listed as Brown’s backup while Tyler Owens was listed as the third string.
Foster is a third-year defensive back who has appeared in 22 games during his collective career at Texas. As a sophomore in 2019, he played in nine games when eight of them started. Due to injury he missed the Longhorns competitions against Rice, Oklahoma State and TCU.
He collected a total of 34 tackles last season, four tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one pass breakup and one interception.
