Tesla is pushing a software update that allows its vehicles’ autopilot system to detect speed limit signals using their cameras. When the camera detects a speed limit signal, it will be displayed on the driver visualization in the car and is used to set the speed limit warning, according to the software release notes.
The latest software update also adds to its traffic light and stop sign control features and will turn green when your Tesla green light sits on the stoplight. It is intended as a precaution so that the driver has to decide when and where to move the car.
In April, Tesla rolled out a software update in beta for its new cars to help see and respond to signs and traffic lights at some intersections. The “Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control” feature was made available to Tesla vehicles with the “full self-driving” version of the full topilot, and when activated, slows the car to turn off the stoplights and stop signs. It requires the driver to take action – either by tapping the accelerator or by pulling the op topilot stem before the car moves forward.
Musk Suffered development version Including traffic lights and a stop sign control feature, N 2018 said, “Your Tesla will soon be driving from your garage to home and will not have driving input at work.”
But even though Tesla calls that version of the Autopilot “fully self-driving” and CEO Elon Musk’s promise to have a fully autonomous Tesla by this year, it’s still not there. Teslas still needs men behind the wheel. The “Full Self Driving” package, which starts at around, 7,000, gives customers additional access to growth rates such as speed limits and stop sign controls.
