Tesla Model S Refresh V11 UI in Appearance, Displays “Drag Strip Mode,” “Smart Shift,” and more

A recent look at the Tesla Model S refresh provided that it may be the first glimpse of the potential user interface of software version 11, as well as some of its features. The images also showed how Tesla could use the Model S Refresh’s cybertruck-sized 17 infotainment system and its instrument cluster.

In a post at R / Teslamotors Subredit, electric vehicle enthusiast U / Friday. Dog 111 commented that these images were taken in one of the two high-mileage Model S refresh units going from Phoenix to Fremont. Evie Enthusiast did not say where the vehicle came from, although photos appear to have been taken on a Kettleman supercharger.

Electric car enthusiasts have taken a look at the photos shared that the software will bring some UI changes compared to the V11 V10. The 3D avatar of the vehicle, which appears to be the same size as the Model 3 and Model Y, was shown in the instrument cluster. This indicates that the driving visualization in the next vehicle will be displayed in the instrument cluster, like its predecessor.

The additional screen real estate provided by the 17 infotainment system looks remarkable, as can be seen in the display support of multiple widgets. But despite this interesting, what was really covered in the recent photos were some of the features listed in the “Driving” menu of the new Model S. In the images, one can see new features such as “smart shift”. Option for dedicated “drag strip mode,” and “crazy” acceleration.

The nature of the new features is yet to be announced by Tesla, while the “smart shift” seems to be related to a function recently referenced to Elon Musk on Twitter. In a tweet, the Tesla CEO noted that the Model S will be able to operate without a refresh shifter. Additional details on the feature were provided later by a leaked email, in which Kasturi said the system would op Use a topilot camera To determine whether the vehicle should be parked, neutral, reverse or in the drive. These capabilities match the bill of the “smart shift” function.

The “crazy” acceleration is a throwback to the days of the Model S P85D, a type of all-electric flagship sedan that can go from 0-60 mph to 3.2 seconds. The insane mode is partly responsible for the attitude of Tesla owners to share passenger reaction videos of Tesla owners experiencing the acceleration of the Model S for the first time. Considering its moniker “drag strip mode,” it seems to refer to a function that drivers will start their Model S with the best performance possible.

That being said, the fact that there are no “plaid” references in the recently photographed Model S refresh images indicates that the car is a dual motor long range AWD variant. However, it should also be noted that the latest images only displayed a few screens and features that were available in the Model S Refresh’s V11 Q software. Other features, especially those typical of the Model S Plaid, will be more exciting.
