Tesla is working to add Apple Pal Music and Amazon Music as new original in-car music services within its electric vehicles.
While most other automakers have turned to phone mirroring with Android Auto Toe and Apple Pull CarPlay to handle media playback inside their cars, Tesla is insisting on integrating music services into its own user interface.
Over the years, AutoTomeker has been integrating various central streaming services within its vehicles with apps built into its center display.
Most famously, Tesla has integrated Spotify into its vehicles.
Recently CEO Elon Musk said that Tesla will recruit into its integrated music services and now we have learned that the auto tomer Apple is also working on integrating Pull Music and Amazon Music.
Tesla hacker ‘Green’ spotted early versions of integration into Tesla’s user interface in a recent software update:
Looking at different media sources, many new options are shown, although not yet useful:
Based on these leaks, it looks like Tesla is working to add a lot of new media sources, including Amazon Music, Aud Double, which is also owned by Amazon and Apple Paul Music.
Tesla drivers will be able to link their music streaming accounts to those cars with those services and use the services through the car interface instead of connecting their phones to Bluetooth, which is already an option.
There’s no way to know the timing of the integration, but Leela notes that tides seem very far in development.
With more media sources coming on Tesla vehicles, Automaker recently released a new software update that enables drivers to hide media sources.
Now, you can just go to settings and only the media source you actually use will be displayed in the main UI.
This feature is going to be especially useful if Tesla ends up doubling the number of music services that can be linked to their vehicles, which seems to be the case.
